Case Study #1

Problem: A production engineer at a Tier One automotive supplier had ongoing issues with the current process, specifically their die cutting and in-house glue coating processes. This presented them with space, labor, and quality constraints.

Solution: Using ICS’s PSA & Die Cut Products, the customer could reduce space previously required for material cutting, glue application, and activation. This allowed for a more simple, flexible process and the ability to change over time.  They were also able to eliminate the in-house VOC concerns and management systems, as well as reduce the scrap of die cut parts in the gluing application process.  Finally, the customer was able to reduce labor and the management of multiple processes, from forecasting and planning to assembly.

Showcases:  ICS’s products and solutions can provide customers with a more simplified process, which in turn creates a total cost savings of assembled parts.

Case Study #2

Problem:  A customer who uses non-woven, tape backed parts in an assembly process at their facility was having issues with lot quantities, inventory management, and the supply method of parts received.

Solution: By making the switch to ICS’s PSA coated and die cut parts, the customer was able to work within their budget to receive a product in smaller roll quantities, a better supply method. This switch made it easier for them to manage their inventory, reducing the risk of low stock levels.  BONUS – because of ICS’s PSA technology compared to the previous tape being used, the customer could see a cost reduction from implementation.

Showcases:  ICS’s philosophy, capabilities, and processes allow for us to remain competitive in pricing.  ICS puts a high priority on how our customers can use our products and what can be done to make that process easier.

Case Study #3

Problem: A customer who was using ICS’s PSA coated and die cut parts had a secondary assembly process that required the SRS Airbag logo to be stamped onto assembled parts.  Due to the inherent process, the SRS logos would not apply appropriately at times.  When this happened, the assembled part would need to be scrapped, causing unnecessary waste and increased cost.

Solution:  ICS began applying the SRS Airbag logo as a PSA coated and die cut part, prior to wrapping, to reduce the value added to components prior to a potentially high scrap process.  In turn, the customer could discover a total cost savings and a reduction of scrap.

Showcases:  ICS’s ability to see outside our current capabilities and consider taking on new challenges allowed the customer to simplify their process, reduce scrap, and a total per piece dollar amount.
